Meet Your New Associate Pastors

One of the strengths of our connection as United Methodists is that we are able to transition our pastoral leadership smoothly and effectively. As we have said goodbye to Livingstone, we now welcome our two new associate pastors. Lynda Moore is joining us as our new full time associate pastor and Norma Aguilar has been appointed as a part-time pastor as she continues to work in our midst with our Hispanic members. Norma’s appointment has been made possible through a grant by the Richmond District Board of Missions. This is an exciting time for us as we move forward in our ministry.

Lynda brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. She is a licensed local pastor and entered the United Methodist ministry from Bon Air United Methodist Church. This past year she was appointed to Highland Park UMC. Lynda brings a warmth and sincerity that is very contagious. I have been pleased to have worked with her for several years now on a wide variety of task groups, coalitions, and on the Board of Directors of United Methodist Urban Ministries of Richmond, Inc.

Norma has been a vital member of our congregation for a little over two years now and has provided invaluable leadership for our 12:30 worship, along with leading Bible study and teaching Sunday School. Norma was licensed as a local pastor this year at Annual Conference. With her appointment to Ramsey, Norma is now authorized to administer the sacraments within our church, something that she was not able to do prior to her licensing.

I believe that God has truly blessed us with these two servants and that each of you will be excited about their ministry in our midst. Over the course of the summer, we will be attempting to offer small group opportunities for each of you to get to know them on a more personal basis. Please take advantage of this opportunity, because I know that you will share the same enthusiasm I have once you have been able get to know them.
